About Äpsylon

Originating from Europe, Äpsylon's tone comes from the musical influences of rock, classical, jazz, and Celtic folk songs, combined with a unique choice of instrumentation, and a highly expressive, powerful, blues-driven voice.

The story of Äpsylon begins in the summer of 2006, when founder Tedy Mädl began recording songs that he had written in the past year.

In 2007 the search for additional players began and by the spring of 2008 the core members of the band were working on the band's debut album. Guitar, drums, flute, cello, and vocals were the primary voices that created Äpsylon's "Celtic-Rock" style with elements of both classical and modern genres.

During the production of the album, Mädl brought onboard long-time-friend, songwriter Brian Lunetta to work on the lyrical content of the album. The goal was to create an emotional connection between the music and the listener and to deliver reflections of real life experiences.

The result — A musical journey filled with an acoustic blend of inviting melodies, intricate rhythms, and expressive lyrics that demands the listeners' full attention...
